Purpose Statement
________________
To equip the ministry for divine deployment that leaves a legacy for tomorrow.
For years, Pastor Danny Wegman has seen a trend. A trend that is disheartening, concerning and alarming. It is a trend where pastors and ministers feel they are fighting a losing battle. What once was the dream of a lifetime to serve others in ministry, now they fight the desire to abandon that dream. They feel called, but constant loneliness and the pressure of feeling unqualified is always lurking. According to statistics from Barna Research, Focus on the Family, and Fuller Seminary, almost 1500 pastors leave their ministry positions each month due to spiritual burnout, moral failures, or issues within the church. Every month, more than 1,200 pastors leave their churches because they feel unprepared and ill-equipped to meet the daily demands of ministry. They are overwhelmed with the regular challenges they meet in the area of finances, staff development, volunteer recruitment, and working with their board. In addition to that, 4 out of 10 pastors will experience burnout by year 10 of ministry. This is the trend. But there is hope!
With over 43 years of pastoring the same multi-cultural church in Dallas, Texas, Danny Wegman is called to give hope. Having shared the stage with today’s leading ministry voices in both conferences and on Christian television, he has seen and experienced the good, bad, and even the ugly side of ministry. He remembers the struggles and the need to break barriers in attendance and to see the church grow as stated in the book of Acts.
Most churches in America have a regular Sunday attendance of less than 100 people. Those churches cannot afford to attend a large conference for ideas and inspiration. And one on one consulting is never available without a significant cost. So, the church growth conference that was intended to empower a church instead leaves a pastor/minister feeling more discouraged because the dream doesn’t seem attainable. But there is hope! Life and Legacy is that hope.
Life and Legacy is a ministry that desires to remind pastors, leaders and churches that they are not forgotten and they DO have a place. Life and Legacy was formed to help pastors and
ministers to fulfill the call on their life and equip them to successfully pass the baton to the next generation of ministers. Life and Legacy offers to all pastors and ministers much needed training and coaching to move their ministry to the next level without the financial burden of other programs. Life and Legacy operates on a donation basis so no church, no pastor, no staff will be left behind. No one is ever turned down because of a lack of funds.
It’s time to turn the trend around. It’s time to give hope again. It’s time to help a pastor dream again. It’s time!
Romans 10:14-15 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
